Worse still, two thirds of women who die from a sudden heart attack have had no previous symptoms, according to The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women&#8217;s Health. Age, smoking, a lack of exercise, weight gain, diabetes and a poor diet all increase your risk of cardiovascular disease, as can family history. </p>
<p> The good news is that simple lifestyle changes can lower your chances of having a stroke or heart attack, says Professor Susan Davis, chair of Women&#8217;s Health at Monash University in Melbourne. </p>
<p> Regular exercise<br />
 Regular exercise is an extremely important factor in women&#8217;s health. Daily exercise can help control your weight and sugar levels, strengthen your heart, lower blood pressure, raise HDL (good) cholesterol and lower LDL (bad) cholesterol. &#8220;Women need to do moderate, endurance-type exercise for at least 40 minutes, three times a week, and include more activity in their everyday lives,&#8221; says Professor Davis. </p>

 Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables that are high in antioxidants and vitamins such as folate is also crucial for heart health. There is evidence that replacing unhealthy fats with polyunsaturated fatty acids found in oily fish, leafy plants, canola and linseed oil can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. </p>

 Giving up smoking will also improve your heart health. Nearly 40 per cent of smoking related deaths are caused by cardiovascular disease, according to NSW Health. This is because smoking increases an artery-clogging process called atherosclerosis.</p>

With all the modern exercise machines and other various equipment available today, what possible reason could there be to make anyone want to include the medicine ball as part of their workout? </p>
<p>First of all, the medicine ball has come a long way from the old leather ones mentioned earlier. They now come in a vast array of colors and are made with rubber surfaces making them easier to grip. They also come in weights ranging from one to fifty pounds so you can vary resistance to suit your needs. Because they bounce and can be tossed around, they are great for working you with random movements instead of the fixed ones that come with barbell, dumbbell and machine workouts. <p>I am sure there are some very happy customers out there and I would not attempt to besmirch anyone or any claims made but in my opinion the replacement results I have seen honestly look unatural at best and down right stupid at worst.</p>
<p>I certainly am not going to dismiss these procedures as I am not qualified, I am sure some will be very happy with the results and in the interest of fairness I have provided a video below that seems to be a successul outcome.</p>

The roots of alternative medicine deal with the symptoms of the &#8220;whole- person, not merely the physical signs of illness. This is radically different from traditional medicine today.</p>
<p>In medicine today, people demand to be cured immediately, and the demand for medicines and treatments that do so is very high. Most physicians today are trained to assess physical symptoms and base treatments on that, without much consideration of the person&#8217;s emotional or intellectual state. </p>
<p>Since its inception, alternative medicine has survived the ages and stages of the field of medicine. Despite the prevalence of modern medical practices, there are still millions of people worldwide that take advantage of alternative treatments for ailments or well-being. Some of these alternative treatments include massage therapy, herbal remedies, and meditation. Massage is one of the most long-standing forms of alternative treatment, and it is highly popular today as a treatment for aches and pains, and as a means of stress release and relaxation. The folk healers appealed to the poorer factions of society, in that they used natural treatments that were more affordable and easier to come by. Folk healers were often highly respected in these underprivileged sections of society. Folk healers often incorporated philosophy and religious faith into their healing practices, which helped to strengthen a sick person&#8217;s mind and spirit, as well as his body.</p>
<p>Eventually, folk medicine evolved into the traditional medicine we are familiar with in today&#8217;s world. With each passing century, many great advances have been made in treatments and cures for various diseases and conditions.</p>
<p>Despite the dominance of traditional medicine in the world today, there is still a place for alternative medicine.
